Junior Tournament 2018

The Annual Hilton Junior Tennis Tournament

on the weekend of 6 and 7 October 2018 

at the Hilton Tennis Club

The annual Hilton Junior Tennis Tournament was held over the weekend of Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October 2018.  The tournament had been forced to be postponed from its usual dates in June after the fire at the club.  Parents were very appreciative of the work that had been carried out to rebuild and renovate the club and children were very happy to play on the newly resurfaced courts which had been funded by the National Lotteries Commission in early 2018.

Once again the event was blessed with perfect sunshine and all matches were comfortably completed within the weekend.  Entries were lower than usual due to the date changes and the government and private school holidays not synching for this holiday period.  A total of 43 children competed this year in age groups that included: Under 8, Under 10, Under 12, Under 14 and Open. 

Thanks must go to Chris Folker and his team of coaches, Jordache, Richard, Master, and Mitch for making the organisation look easy. Also thanks to all the club members who volunteered to help with running the tuck shop, cooking burgers and serving tea and coffee.  Stowell & Co. sponsored the tournament for the second consecutive year.    Here are the results of all age groups:
